Draft Grant Conditions for the Supporting People programme grants for excellent and non-excellent authorities covering the 2004-05 financial year have today been issued on the KWeb for consultation.
The Grant Conditions are made by the First Secretary of State ("the Secretary of State") under s93 of the Local Government Act 2000 ("section 93"), and determine the way in which Supporting People grant is paid to local authorities, in providing and contributing to the provision of, such welfare services as they are determined by the Secretary of State.
The Grant Conditions remain largely unchanged from 2003/04. For any authority that has moved down a category from excellent to good in 2003/04, the grant conditions for excellent authorities will apply.
This consultation will run for 6 weeks. The final day for comments is Wednesday 24 March.
