Promoting and sharing positive practice is essential to the effective delivery of the Supporting People programme. DCLG are fully aware that many authorities are doing effective and innovative work both at a local and regional level. Building from this, we want to support and enhance the regional networks, and also extend them to ensure information and practice sharing nationally, through the appointment of Regional Champions. Supporting People Teams were invited to apply to become a Regional Champion in January 2007.
