The QAF refresh was released in April 2009.
The QAF refresh aims to ‘raise the bar’ of Supporting People funded services. The main changes from the old QAF are as follows:
• Format
• Needs & Risk Assessment & Support Planning joined
• Safeguarding and Protection (including children)
• Client Involvement (including Complaints)
• Service user → Client
• Policies less than three years old
• CRB checks every three years
• Scoring Mechanism
Authorities and providers are able to access the final documents below. As well as the final QAF core objective document you will also find the QAF revised guidance, QAF summary sheet, new QAF scoring spreadsheet and QAF FAQ's.
Passporting – All previous passporting documents will no longer be eligible for passporting under the new QAF. Codes of practice and standards which were previously passported will now have to be refreshed and aligned to the new QAF. CLG/Sitra will undertake any mapping of potential passporting documents and will inform authorities when a standard or code of practice has been awarded passported status.
QAF Lite – The QAF lite has now been refreshed and the documents can now be viewed below.
Supplementary Objectives - S1.1 – S1.4 of the original supplementary objectives have been removed and added into C1.5 Client Involvement and Empowerment. The remaining 7 supplementary objectives remain and can be found below. They have been renumbered to account for the removal of S1.1 – S1.4.
Sitra has run a series of regional briefings concerning the QAF throughout February and March 2009. The half day sessions, highlighted the main changes to the QAF and allowed providers and commissioners to ask questions surrounding the new QAF. Below you can also find the presentation delivered at the briefings.
